Biscuit Run Sells for $46.2 Million
“More than six months after being put up for private auction, the 1,353 acres known as Biscuit Run and Forest Lodge have sold for $46.2 million.
The sprawling parcel, which lies just a few miles south of the Charlottesville city limits on Old Lynchburg Road, was sold to Forest Lodge LLC, fronted by developer, builder and bank president Hunter E. Craig, according to those familiar with the purchase.
The developer plans to turn most of the property into a mixed-use, high-density development called Fox Ridge, plans filed with Albemarle County indicate. ”
Another “Fox” Development hits the books. When this comes online, I imagine it will be built out similar to the Hollymeade Town Center, near the airport. Mixed use could benefit the southern end of the County and City. In a positive way, it would possibly take traffic off of Rt. 29 N with new commercial properties, add more housing to a hot market, and possibly affordable homes. On the flip side, traffic is bad enough on Rt. 20 S towards Scottsville and 5th St. Ext./ Ridge Street getting into town.
