City of Charlottesville Real Estate Taxes

Hmm… It seems the city planner and the city council have different ideas on what the real estate tax rate should be. In the city news letter that is mailed out with the utility bills, the city manager has one tax rate, and an article in the Daily Progress has another version of the tax rate to be.

On a side note, they were going to cut the large item pick up from the budget, but the council added that back in. When we moved into our house about 2 years ago, the crawl space was FULL of stuff. We found some canned peaches and tomatoes from 1972 down there. Yum! With the city’s help, we took most of the stuff out to the curb, purchased a sticker from city hall, and they did the rest. Great service!
