Nelson County Stoplight

Nelson County will soon have a stoplight of it’s very own, the Daily Progress reports. The Virginia Dept. of Transportation is installing the first and only stoplight in the entire county. If only we were all so lucky.

“If you shop at the Food Lion along U.S. 29 in Lovingston, you’re probably familiar with left-turn syndrome. That’s the pounding heart, gripping of the steering wheel and quick prayer that accompanies any left turn made onto 29 from the shopping center. Left-turn syndrome at this particular intersection may soon be a thing of the past in Nelson County. The Virginia Department of Transportation has begun construction on a stoplight, the first one ever in the 472-square-mile county, and is predicting a mid-March completion date. ”
