Nelson County Taxes

The following article discusses the Nelson County Board of Supervisors decision to raise specific taxes.

The Telecommunications tax was the steepest against Commercial & Industrial services, with a $7 raise, from $3 to $10. They also created a tax on Mobile phone users at $3 per month.

The other big one was the raise in the Lodging Tax, from 1% to 3%. This tax will include Wintergreen. Originally there was an idea they would raise the tax rate to 5% and leave Wintergreen at its current rate. The County also discussed raising the Condo rental tax on the Wintergreen Condos from 2% to 3%.
